Mercy Housing Southeast Celebrates Reynoldstown Senior Residences Grand Opening

National Affordable Housing Trust (NAHT) joined Mercy Housing Southeast for the grand opening of Reynoldstown Senior Residences. Marcus Vivona, Director of Acquisitions, and Lori Little, Director of Capital Markets at NAHT, represented NAHT at the grand opening celebration.  They were joined by representatives of the investors for the tax credit fund who provided the LIHTC equity investment.

Lori Little stated, “It is truly an honor to be a part of such an important project. Connecting people to access to opportunity is one of the cornerstones of NAHT.”

Marcus Vivona had this to add about the grand opening, “We have been looking forward to this event since the Reynoldstown groundbreaking in 2015. The excitement and gratefulness of the new residents and surrounding community is a really humbling experience. NAHT and its partners are excited to have been a part of this project.”

Reynoldstown Senior Residences is comprised of 69 affordable apartments for seniors age 62 years and older. This brand new community is located in the historic Reynoldstown neighborhood of Atlanta. This walkable neighborhood is one of the most diverse areas inside the perimeter and is home to over 1,500 households. The neighborhood’s rich history, central location, and proximity to the Atlanta Beltline, a multi-use trail and major revitalization effort in the city, made the site ideal. The site has great access to Interstates, 20, 75, and 85. In addition to providing a great location for residents, the project features an extensive amenity package that includes a covered patio, media room, fitness center, computer center, and raised community garden beds.

NAHT secured the LIHTC investment for the development of Reynoldstown under the Cornerstone Enhanced Preservation Fund. On June 7, 2017, Reynoldstown was named as the winner of the 23rd Annual Charles L. Edson Tax Credit Excellence Awards for senior housing. The Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition presents the Edson Awards annually to Low Income Housing Tax Credit (Housing Credit) developments in eight categories.
