National Church Residences

Founded in 1961 with a focus on developing affordable housing for older adults, the mission of NCR has expanded over the past 49 years to include housing for low-income families, persons with disabilities, and assisted living communities. The Columbus, Ohio-based organization currently holds 323 projects in its development and management portfolio, totaling over 23,400 units in 28 states and Puerto Rico. 

 

Retirement Housing Foundation

Based in Long Beach, California, RHF is a non-profit organization of 154 communities in 24 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the United States Virgin Islands.  One of the nation’s largest non-profit sponsors and managers of affordable housing, RHF provides housing and services to more than 16,000 adults, economically disadvantaged families, and people with disabilities.

VOA is a national, non-profit, faith-based organization dedicated to helping those in need rebuild their lives and reach their full potential.  For more than 38 years, the organization has successfully developed and managed affordable housing programs for low- and moderate-income families, the elderly, and people with disabilities, and currently boasts a portfolio of 300 affordable housing projects totaling 16,000 units, including 18 developments (1,860 units) that utilize states’ low income housing tax credit programs.  Through thousands of human service programs, including housing and healthcare, VOA helps nearly 2 million people in more than 400 communities. The organization is headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia. 

 

Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society

Headquartered in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society is a Christian social ministry organization which seeks to share God’s love in lively community settings and through services that support people in their own homes.  The Society is the nation's largest not-for-profit owner and operator of nursing homes and residential facilities for the elderly in the country.  It operates nursing homes and residential facilities in 239 locations (including 189 owned and 24 leased or managed) in 24 states with a capacity of serving more than 25,000 residents.  In addition, The Society has worked with HUD for over 27 years and has developed 28 Section 202 properties in 14 states.  Currently, The Society owns and manages over 1,000 units of Section 202 housing.

 

Mercy Housing

Mercy Housing, Inc. is a national, not-for-profit, affordable housing organization headquartered in Denver, Colorado, and founded in 1981 by the Sisters of Mercy Omaha as a concrete, organized response to housing justice for persons who are economically poor.  In the two decades since its inception, the organization has grown into a national network of non-profit housing development corporations that have strengthened communities by providing program-enriched housing for a variety of low-income populations including families, seniors and people with special needs (e.g., formerly homeless, people with HIV/AIDS, and the developmentally disabled).  Mercy has placed in service over 480 rental projects with more than 35,700 total units.   Additionally, the organization has a presence in 41 states, serves more than 117,000 people on any given day, and has participated in the development, financing, or operation of more than 34,500 homes.
