Our Team

 

The greatest strength of any organization lies in its people, and NAHT has recruited and retained a group of highly skilled individuals who are experts in affordable housing, have an old-fashioned work ethic, an innovative spirit, and a natural attention to detail. Our talented and dedicated staff possesses, on average, over 12 years of experience in the affordable housing industry, and many have experience across multiple disciplines. 

 

Our staff is divided into six teams, which are:

James Bowman

President and CEO

Mr. Bowman joined the National Affordable Housing Trust (NAHT, the Trust) in 1998, bringing with him nearly 15 years experience of investment banking and capital markets experience for a wide variety of public purpose projects. As President and CEO of NAHT, he is responsible for plotting and maintaining the strategic direction of the organization and ensuring its mission to be a reliable source of capital and development expertise for affordable housing is realized. Previously, Mr. Bowman served as Senior Vice President of the Housing and Long Term Care group with National City Investments in Cleveland, Director of Finance for Franklin County, Ohio, was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Franklin County Mental Health Board, and served as chair of the Metropolitan Human Services Levy Review Committee in Columbus. Mr. Bowman currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Community Housing Network in Columbus, a non-profit organization that develops and manages special needs housing. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics, as well as a master’s degree in Public Administration, both from The Ohio State University. 

 

 

Lori Little

Senior Vice President,  Director of Capital Markets Group

Ms. Little joined NAHT from global financial services firm JP Morgan Chase in 2002, bringing her 20+ years of law, credit, and mortgage experience to enhance the equity placement processes at the Trust.  As Director of Equity Placement, she leads the team responsible for securing capital from corporate investors, underwriting the development projects to meet and assure investors’ needs, and facilitating the closing processes for such investors and projects.  Prior to her tenure at JP Morgan Chase, Ms. Little served as Operations Vice President for the Associates Corporation of North America, and as Associate Attorney for Blalack & Williams, LP in Dallas.  She holds a B.A. in Government from Abilene Christian University, as well as her J.D. from Baylor University Law School. Ms. Little is a member of the American Bar Association’s Housing Division, and holds bar certifications in the states of Iowa, Ohio and Texas.

Heather Holland

VP, Director of Administration

With more than 20 years of experience in the real estate and finance industries, Ms. Holland joined NAHT in 2005.  As Director of Administration, she oversees all functions that support the company’s operations.  Ms. Holland directs the information technology, human resources, communication and administrative functions of the organization.  She and her team handle vendor relations, contract negotiations, purchasing, event planning, security, equipment and facilities.  In addition, her area is responsible for organizational policy creation, implementation and interpretation.  Prior to joining NAHT, Ms. Holland was employed in a project management capacity with Glimcher Realty Trust, a commercial development and property management firm.  In her 10 years with Glimcher, Ms. Holland held progressively responsible positions that involved budgeting and overall operations responsibilities across multiple sites.
